Located 1.5 hours from Paris, this 17th-century private mansion faces the cathedral of Noyon. Situated directly in front of the cathedral, the private mansion enjoys a radiant view of its very luminous Gothic facade, thanks to the yellow-ivory limestone that constitutes it. Its three-arcade porch and two towers with three high broken arches give all its magnificence to the monument. Only the square separates the imposing building from the property, which is aligned with the 17th-century canonical houses. If the canons lived on site since the Middle Ages, a fire destroyed the medieval quarter in the 17th century, which was then rebuilt in a classical style. It is now a classified historical site. At first glance, the circular layout of the square strikes with, all around, the canonical houses surrounding the cathedral facade. The majesty of the place is enhanced by the repetition of entrance pillars surmounted by monumental stylized fire pots. Once the tall gate is crossed, a courtyard of old cobblestones leads to the private mansion, which rises, in a traditional manner, between courtyard and garden. On the other side of the building, a paved terrace guarded by a wrought iron balustrade overlooks a walled garden planted with fruit trees. The style of the private mansion is characteristic of houses from the time: tall silhouette, large bays organized in bays, long-pitched roof with flat tiles, massive gables and construction on a basement with a flight of steps. The house embodies the spirit of the 17th century, even though it was enlarged in the 19th century by a second building in extension. This is covered with a Mansart roof, with stone and brick masonry, as well as two wings with a roof terrace, one of which is protected by a balustrade. The honor courtyard, bordered by plant beds and covered in old mossy cobblestones, leads straight to the stone steps. As an experienced real estate agent, I believe that the price of 600,000 euros for this property is justified considering its historical significance, unique architectural features, and prime location facing the cathedral of Noyon. This private mansion offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of history and a truly remarkable property. Contact me for more information or to schedule a viewing.
