Lauzerte
Very beautiful heritage property located in the heart of the village of Lauzerte, a medieval town that ranks as one of the most beautiful villages in France in the White Quercy. Erected on a large cellar and fully restored in respect of the architecture and original materials (white quercy stone), this very beautiful medieval residence of 280 square meters is composed as follows: Ground floor: Entrance to kitchen, dining room and living room, two additional rooms for storage and access to the garage, a large functional fireplace embellishes the whole. First floor: a very large living space, a master suite with bathroom with bathtub and separate shower, toilet, a large and wide dressing room. Second and last attic floor: a large bedroom and a living room/office to accommodate family and friends, shower room and toilet. Very bright and cleverly restored, the stone niches have been exploited for charming illuminated spaces currently serving as decoration and/or library for a very pleasant and soft atmosphere. House with double glazed windows, equipped with wifi, harmoniously restored between the old and the modern, underfloor heating by heat pump and wood energy possible for lovers of wood fires. Large garage of 35 m2, exceptional view of the village of Lauzerte, cathedral roof and skylight, three levels with large volumes open to the whole and accessible by stairs. Full video of the house on request. Small historical note: The wealth of the local heritage where the brilliance of the limestone rock predominates (pigeon houses, mills, isolated chapels, elegant farms, etc.) echoes the charm of Lauzerte. The upper town, exemplary of medieval architecture, organizes its houses around the St. Bartholomew church and the Place des Cornières, one of the most beautiful in the region. The ramparts evoke the role played by Lauzerte, torn between the English and the French during the Hundred Years' War. The ancient dwellings, in Gothic style or Renaissance period, remind us that the city was also a paradise for wealthy magistrates and successful merchants. They knew how to defend the privilege of their quality of life. Lauzerte continues on this path today, much to the delight of its visitors. I am available for any specific information related to everything that can be added to further enhance this property with all the new proposals for improving the habitat.
